The Madison Clinic for Pediatric Diabetes
Comprehensive and Individualized Care for Young People with Diabetes
Salinas Valley Health opened its doors in February 2018 to the Madison Clinic for Pediatric Diabetes in partnership with UC San Francisco. As the first pediatric diabetes center in Monterey County, the clinic proudly offers specialized services to address the growing needs of young people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. According to the American Diabetes Association, around 283,000 Americans under the age of 20 live with diabetes and 24,000 youths are newly diagnosed each year.
The Madison Clinic for Pediatric Diabetes is located at Salinas Valley Health Clinics Diabetes & Endocrine Center in Salinas. It is staffed with a team of specialists who provide compassionate care to the local community, alleviating the need to travel to the Bay Area for diabetes services. Offerings include medical care, diabetes and nutrition education, social work services, support with diabetes technologies, and more. Appointments are available in English and Spanish.
We care for individuals and families no matter where they are in their journey, from receiving a new diagnosis and learning about treatment options support with daily management. We pride ourselves in providing culturally competent and developmentally appropriate care to our youth who live with diabetes and the loved ones who support them.

- Support with diabetes technologies including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors
- An interdisciplinary team of specialists including a 24/7 on-call pediatric endocrinologist, dedicated nurse practitioner, registered dietitian, and licensed clinical social worker
