The Madison Clinic for Pediatric Diabetes

Comprehensive and Individualized Care for Young People with Diabetes

Salinas Valley Health opened its doors in February 2018 to the Madison Clinic for Pediatric Diabetes- the first pediatric diabetes clinic in Monterey County, in partnership with UC San Francisco Medical Center, to offer specialized pediatric diabetes services that will address the growing needs of young people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. According to the American Diabetes Association, around 34 million people have been diagnosed with diabetes in the United States. In Monterey County, 57% of the population suffers from diabetes or pre-diabetes.

The Madison Clinic for Pediatric Diabetes is located in the Salinas Valley Health Clinics Diabetes & Endocrine Center in Salinas. The clinic provides convenient and local service to our community, alleviating the need to commute to the Bay Area for specialized diabetic care and lab work. The clinic offers a full range of integrated diabetic care and services, various metabolic treatments and preventive care both in English and Spanish.

We support families and individuals no matter where they are in their journey, from newly diagnosed to learning about treatment options to daily management. Our unique program offers families the opportunity to involve their children in managing their diabetes, such as exercising together and learning how to prep meals with their children. We assist with medical coverage, education and support, insulin pumps and sensor technology.

Our pediatric diabetes services include:

  • Initial diagnosis and support
