Walk With A Doc

Walk With A Doc Logo

Salinas Valley Health invites the community to Walk With A Doc. Walk With A Doc encourages healthy physical activity in people of all ages. Board certified physicians make presentations on specific health topics prior to walking and answer people’s questions during and after the walk. This is a great opportunity to get to know our physicians and ask them questions in an informal, fun and healthy environment. The free walks will take place once monthly, on a selected Saturday morning, with locations varying from Badger Hills Trailhead (Fort Ord National Monument), Salinas Valley Health Medical Center and other outdoor community venues.

The nationwide Walk With A Doc is a non-profit organization started in 2005 and has expanded across the United States; Salinas Valley Health being one of the few registered chapters here on the central coast! Participants can walk at their pace, with friends, or with the group while engaging in conversation with local Salinas Valley Health physicians. Topics that may be covered include Diabetes Management, Chronic Disease Prevention, Cardiac Health, Bone and Joint Health and more!

Walking just 30 minutes a day can reduce the risk of heart disease, improve blood pressure and blood sugar, and reduce the risk of osteoporosis, cancer and even diabetes. Salinas Valley Health looks forward to seeing you at our next Walk With A Doc event!
