SALINAS, CA, July 12, 2018- Salinas Valley Health (Salinas Valley Health) is kicking off its 18th annual Medical Adventure Camp next week. The two week day camp is for children 10 to 12 years of age and provides an up close and personal look at the many career and volunteer opportunities in health care.

“Medical Adventure Camp opens up the world of healthcare to children in our community,” says Shannon Graham, Director, Volunteer & Health Career Services.

“They learn about a variety of health-related topics in interactive classes led by physicians, clinical staff and volunteers.”

Medical Adventure Camp provides positive role models and opportunities for bonding with kids of diverse backgrounds. It also exposes the students to the benefits of compassionate patient care. Student volunteers help guide the campers, while hospital staff and physicians present classes and activities.

To date, nearly 400 kids have participated in Medical Adventure Camp. Medical Adventure camp is sponsored by the Children’s Miracle Network, the hospital’s medical staff and the Service League Volunteers. This year’s camp is taking place from July 16th-27th from 9:30am-3:00pm.
