Program Dates
Open Application Period: April 10, 2026 – May 8, 2026
Interview Period: May 11, 2026 – May 21, 2026
Final Selection: May 29 - May 31, 2026
Program Starts: June 22, 2026
Tentative End Date: September 4, 2026 - depending on the Fall academic schedule.
Application Deadline: May 8, 2026, at 12:00pm
Qualifications
Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
Educational Background: Must be currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior
in a four-year degree program. Active enrollment in a degree or certification
program is required and must be in good standing.
Availability: Must be available to intern 30 hours per week for eight to ten consecutive weeks. Internship workweeks follow a Monday–Friday schedule, based on organizational needs.
Problem-Solving Skills: Must demonstrate the ability to understand and follow instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagram form. Should be capable of addressing challenges that involve multiple variables or changing conditions.

Qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview, which may be conducted in person or virtually. This is your opportunity to share your interests, ask questions, and learn more about what it’s like to intern at Salinas Valley Health.
- Interview - Top candidates will be contacted for interviews with hiring managers for specific teams.
- Selection - Selected candidates will receive a phone call notifying them of their acceptance and outlining the next steps. Those not selected will be informed via email.

5. Background Check & Onboarding
Selected interns must complete a background check and onboarding process, which includes health and immunization clearance as required for working in a healthcare setting.
6. Start Your Internship
Once onboarding is complete, you’ll be welcomed as part of the Salinas Valley Health team! During your internship, you'll receive guidance from experienced mentors, participate in learning opportunities, and contribute to meaningful projects that support our mission to improve the health and wellness of our community.
