Lifestyle and Metabolic Program (LAMP) & Bariatric Surgery Program
Salinas Valley Health offers a nonsurgical Lifestyle and Metabolic Program (LAMP) and a Bariatric Surgery Program designed to help bariatric patients who want to lose weight and improve their health and quality of life. Our team of specialty-trained physicians provide a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to weight loss and post-bariatric surgery lifestyle management.
Medical Weight Loss
The Lifestyle and Metabolic Program (LAMP) is a nonsurgical weight loss program designed to provide long-term, compassionate and comprehensive treatments for obesity as well as health management strategies. Patients who have a body mass index (BMI) greater than 30 as well as two obesity-related conditions are eligible for LAMP, which includes:
- BMI >30 but < 35 with two or more obesity related conditions
- BMI >35
- Comprehensive medical management for obesity
- Nutritional assessment and support from a registered dietician
- Psychological evaluation by a therapist and treatment, if needed
- Health coaching to support and sustain behavior changes
- Monthly support group meetings
- Movement coaching
- A comprehensive assessment for bariatric surgery
Surgical Weight Loss
Adults who meet the following requirements may be eligible for gastric
sleeve weight loss surgery through our Bariatric Surgery Program. Surgery
is considered on a case-by-case
basis for patients who have a:
- BMI >30 with one or more obesity related conditions such as cardiac disease, diabetes, high blood pressure or severe sleep apnea
- BMI >35 with a maximum weight of 350 pounds
