Salinas Valley Health celebrates $10,000 donation secured by Bay Federal Credit Union

Salinas Valley Health Foundation gratefully acknowledges a $10,000 donation to our Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Programs thanks to a nomination submitted by longtime partner, Bay Federal Credit Union. Bay Federal Credit Union nominated Salinas Valley Health for the inaugural “Velera Miracle Momentum Award” which was made possible by Velera, a premier payments credit union service organization (CUSO) in collaboration with Credit Union for Kids (CU4Kids). This award recognizes Salinas Valley Health’s role in providing essential pediatric support and services to children and families in the tri-county area as a 35 year member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

The Velera Miracle Momentum Awards received nearly 500 submissions and only 20 hospitals were selected to receive the award. “This generous donation from Velera was made possible thanks to Bay Federal Credit Union's dedicated advocacy, and exemplifies the strength of community partnerships,” says Jeff Wardwell, Chief Philanthropy Officer at Salinas Valley Health Foundation, “This kind of collaborative support enables our Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Program to continue funding important pediatric healthcare needs across Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties.”

Since partnering with CMN Hospitals, over $200 million has been raised nationally in the credit union network, helping to ensure that children receive the quality, accessible care they need regardless of financial barriers. Annually, Bay Federal Credit Union hosts a month-long icon campaign, raising funds for our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, and also supports the annual Credit Unions for Kids Wine Auction in Southern California.
