Magnet® with Distinction Recognition
In March 2026, Salinas Valley Health Medical Center earned Magnet® with Distinction Recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition Program®—an elite recognition that places our organization among the highest-performing hospitals in the nation. This exceptional achievement reflects the expertise, leadership, and unwavering commitment of our nursing team, and the collective dedication of our entire organization to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.
Introduced in 2023, Magnet with Distinction is awarded to a select group of organizations that exceed the already rigorous standards of Magnet recognition—the gold standard for nursing excellence. While approximately 10% of U.S. healthcare organizations have achieved Magnet Recognition, just 1% have earned Magnet with Distinction. Our medical center first achieved Magnet recognition in 2021 as the first and only Magnet-recognized healthcare organization on the California Central Coast and is now proud to be among just a small number of California hospitals to receive this Magnet with Distinction honor.
