Story: When Salinas Valley Health decided to build a hospital based, rural health clinic in Gonzales, the public district healthcare system could not have envisioned the transformative impact it would have in the community and on tens of thousands of families in the region. Salinas based agriculture leader Taylor Farms stepped up as a partner in the effort and the Center opened in November 2015.
Over the past ten years, the facility and services have grown exponentially. The 20-thousand-square foot Center is a centralized hub focusing on wellness and dedicated to expanding access to quality care to the community, offering family medicine, prenatal care, behavioral health, diabetes care and education, orthopedic surgery, podiatry, gastroenterology and cardiology.
- Visual Celebration: To mark the ten year anniversary, Salinas Valley Health is hosting a Community Health Day and celebration with a full line-up of activities for the entire family, including:
- Free Flu Clinic with Salinas Valley Health Mobile Clinic team. Get your important seasonal vaccinations ahead of the busy holiday season. Last year more than 200 people were hospitalized at Salinas Valley Health Medical Center with severe flu symptoms. The flu vaccine can help you stay healthy and protect other vulnerable members of our population.
- Community Health Resource Tables with lots of valuable educational material, program information and giveaways. Connect with knowledgeable professionals about how to elevate your health goals.
- Free Soccer Ball Giveaway for young people to support an active lifestyle. Hundreds of soccer balls on hand and will be given away while supplies last
- Entertainment and Activities including free Zumba class at 11am and free cooking demo at 1pm.
- Recognition and Appreciation program takes place at noon with leaders from Salinas Valley Health and the City of Gonzales.
