A Bay Area native, Benjamin Berthet, DO, brings a thoughtful, whole-person approach to his role as a primary care physician at Salinas Valley Health. Specializing in both internal medicine and pediatrics, he is passionate about providing comprehensive care for patients of all ages. Since joining Salinas Valley Health in early 2025, Dr. Berthet has been dedicated to supporting the well-being of the Salinas Valley community through accessible care and education on pediatric and adult health, chronic conditions and mental wellness.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Berthet is the author of “Similar Differences,” a 360-page book exploring cross-cultural understanding and human connection. The book was recognized as a dual finalist for Multicultural Non-Fiction in both the 2018 International Book Awards and Best Book Awards. His interests in medical education and innovation have also led him to collaborate on an AMA-recognized abstract focused on improving how healthcare professionals learn through patient-inspired models.
Dr. Berthet’s commitment to community health extends beyond the exam room. He has volunteered at clinics serving migrant workers, refugees and underserved populations and is known for creating inclusive, patient-centered spaces. He has a special interest in osteopathic principles and hands-on healing techniques that support the body’s natural healing functions.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys outdoor adventures, biking, hiking, running, traveling, movies, music and connecting with friends.
