This four-class series provides education on the skills to live healthfully with diabetes.
Class number 4 reviews the following topics:
- Benefits of physical activity for those who have diabetes
- Stress: how it impacts blood sugar and strategies to manage it
- Review of lab work for people with diabetes
- Possible long-term complications of diabetes and prevention techniques to live a healthy life
Participants must be diagnosed with diabetes to attend and will need a physician's referral.
Many insurance plans, including Medi-Cal and Medicare, cover diabetes education classes. A cash pay price is available. Participants may bring one guest free of charge.
