Rachel R. Beck, MD

About the provider

For Rachel McCarthy Beck, MD, medicine is all about treating the whole person. She takes all of the body’s systems as well as the patient’s emotional well-being into account as she addresses obstetric and gynecologic needs. Prevention and education are at the heart of her patient care approach including regular screening exams and lifestyle improvements like healthy eating and exercise. Discovering a love for her chosen specialty during her third year of medical school, Dr. Beck enjoys employing her skills in prevention, education, surgery, delivering babies and helping women achieve and maintain optimum health. Earning her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, Gainesville in 1995, she completed her residency at the same university’s Health Science Center. Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Beck has held a variety of leadership positions at Salinas Valley Memorial, including as chair of the OB/GYN department, a member of the medical executive, pharmacy and therapeutic committees, on the governing board for Salinas Valley Health Clinics and the physician advisory committee for ASPIRE. Married with two daughters, she leads by example staying active with outdoor activities like running, cycling, skiing and hiking. Since 2015, she has volunteered as a mentor for Little Bellas, an organization that encourages girls to gain confidence and life skills through mountain biking.
