Tree of Life

The original Tree of Life was located on the 5th floor of Salinas Valley Medical Center. It was dedicated in 2000 to honor the memory of Evangeline C. "Eve" Mills, recognizing her life of service to her community. The image of a tree was selected to project a feeling of strength, stability, and the renewal of life. The Eve Mills Tree of Life symbolizes the hopes of many and the contributions of all who are listed on this beautiful donor board.

In 2022 the Tree of Life was recreated, with two identical installations located at the end of the hospital's main entry hallway, and in the waiting area of the Salinas Valley Health Outpatient Infusion. All original names and dedications were added, and new opportunities to be added are now available.

Gifts of $1,000 or more made to the Comprehensive Cancer Care Fund will be recognized on both Tree of Life boards, and the donor may choose to have their own name displayed, or to honor or memorialize a loved one.
