Gus G. Halamandaris, MD joined the medical staff of Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and Central Coast Brain and Spine Associates in 1990. He is a neurosurgeon and specializes in surgeries of the brain and spine utilizing the latest surgical and microsurgical techniques, advanced technologies and the minimally-invasive procedures to care for his patients.

Dr. Halamandaris earned his medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, UT and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California in San Diego, CA. He completed his general surgery internship at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA and a neurosurgical residency at the University of California in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Halamandaris is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgery, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Western Neurological Society, American Medical Association, California Medical Association and the Monterey County Medical Society.

Dr. Halamandaris resides in Monterey with his wife and children. He enjoys woodworking and has participated in missions with Assist International including one to Caminul Felix Orphanage in Oradea, Romania where he helped build facilities to house the children.
